Thursday, Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane ended their nearly five-year-long beef which originally stemmed from a conflict over the song “Icy.” The collaborators-turned-rivals were brought together on a call with DJ Drama on air at Atlanta’s Power 104, with Gucci calling in from prison. Since the “Icy” conflict, Jeezy and Drama had a separate falling out in regards toDrama allegedly charging a member of Jeezy’s Corporate Thugz Entertainment $20,000 for a mixtape. The beef reportedly reached the point where rumors circulated about a CTE member being hospitalized after an altercation between CTE and Gucci Mane’s crew. After trading disses on songs such as Jeezy’s “24-23″ and Gucci’s “Mini 14,” both artists agreed to end the longstanding feud as Drama mediated.

“I’ve been loving Hip Hop since I was about five or seven…God blessed me with the opportunity to be in this game and change lives,” Drama said. “Both of you are so important to Hip Hop, the culture and the A-Town. I think if we man up, we can change the world. We can do what has never been done before.”

Both artists then agreed to end the feud on their parts, with Jeezy going so far as to offerGucci his well wishes before “La Flare’s” impending prison date. Friday, Drama told MTV News that Power 104’s “Hurricane” Dave, Def Jam’s Bu Thiam and fellow Aphiliate DJ Sense were all instrumental in the truce.

As far as a officially collaborating again, both Gucci and Jeezy seemed open to the idea, withGucci offering, “We finna make a movie. You know what we about to do!”

Gucci Mane was sentenced to twelve months (six months with good behavior) in prison on Today (November 12th) for a probation violation. The rapper was taken away to prison in handcuffs according to a representative from his record label. The arrest couldn’t come at a worse time as the Atlanta rapper has his new “The State Vs. Radrick Davis” album coming out on December 8th.

Gucci Mane is arguably at the height of his career. He just put out a new video for “Spotlight” featuring none other than Usher. This isn’t the first time that Gucci Mane has served time behind bars. Back in September he went to jail until March and was sentenced to a year in prison for failing to fulfill his court-ordered 600 hours of community service, which was mandated in 2005.

Less than a month after Lil Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison, another southern Rap superstar, Gucci Mane, was given the same sentence today. Although sources have yet to confirm what Gucci Mane’s specific violation was, the Asylum/Warner rapper was sentenced for probation violation. The 12 month stay in Fulton County Jail can be cut in half, if Guccidemonstrates good behavior.

The rapper has been free for less than nine months, after a previous probation violation landed him in jail from late 2008 until March of this year. The initial charge was for assault, dating back at least two years.

With appearances throughout 2009, Gucci Mane is predicted by many, to have a potentially-platinum album in December 8’s The State Vs. Radric Davis. The album is Gucci’s sixth overall, and second on a major label. The effort has confirmed production from Drumma Boy andPolow Da Don.
