Apple has silently introduced Movie bundles in iTunes. Movie bundles are collections of two or more movies at special prices. Collections include classics such as Godfather I and II, Rambo double feature, Bad Boys/Bad Boys 2, Scarlet Johansson feature and much more.

These collections are divided into $9.99 double features, $14.99 double and triple features, $19.99 and up: triple features and more. The HD bundle of Jason Statham Action Pack containing 3 movies costs $34.99 which is the highest pricing for a movie bundle.

Movie bundles are a great introduction by Apple and provide great value for money when you compare the prices of these movies separately and in a bundle. Good amount of savings to be had.

Microsoft Press has released a new e-book for free (for a limited time only) titled First Look: Microsoft Office 2010. It contains 14 chapters which walk you through the newest features Office 2010 has to offer along with details of how they work. Interoperability with other applications has also been discussed as well as focus on how to work anywhere with Office 2010.

While Office 2010 is in public beta currently, this book can turn out to be really useful to spread awareness of the new features and provide training on them. The book is very well written with scenario based presentation, which makes it easy to understand.

Fishbowl – Facebook client for Windows 7 updated with chat and improved performance

Fishbowl, the WPF based Facebook client developed by uxlabs@Microsoft has been updated with a couple of new changes and features. It gets a Facebook chat client, which is basically the chat widget running in a separate window although the online status of your friends is shown in a Facebook chat like bar in the app now.

The performance of the app has improved as well. It consumes lesser memory now and is easier on the CPU. Settings, notifications, inbox and online status of friends are now shown on a bar at the bottom of the app.

The rest of the functionality hasn’t changed much, but the improved performance makes it a whole lot more useable than it was before. I just might start using it regularly instead of the Facebook website if it can now implement support for Pages and Groups natively instead of loading them up in the in-app browser.

For those concerned, the latest version is 1.1.0.205

Move and Edit Youtube Videos using iPhone 3GS Camera Roll

The following tutorial will enable you to move your downloaded Youtube videos on your iPhone to the camera roll app. This will give you complete video editing capabilities of iPhone 3GS with which you can trim and share your downloaded videos on your iPhone, and then sync them with your PC or Mac. You can also make it work with your iPhone 2G, 3G and iPod touch on How-to: Enable iPhone 3GS Video Editing and Camera Roll in iPhone 3G, 2G and iPod touch before following the guide posted below.

Step 1: You will first need to jailbreak your iPhone or iPod touch to get this to work.

Step 2: There are tons of apps available on the iPhone for downloading Youtube videos.

Step 3: You will now have to install SBSettings and Video Mover app from Cydia. SBSettings can be found in BigBoss repo, while Video Mover app can be found in http://apt.macosmovil.com repository.

Step 4: Now simply start SBSettings by swiping on the status bar on the top and enable “Video Mover” as shown in screenshot below.

That’s it! Now go to your Camera Roll in Photos app and you should now have all the downloaded Youtube videos in your Camera Roll. You can now trim the videos, share them with your friends via email, and can sync them with your PC or Mac.

HTC Sense like Snow Weather Background for Jailbroken iPhone

Did you ever got jealous of your friends with HTC HD2 which has this beautiful animated weather background which changes automatically with real weather forecast?

Comes in Let It Snow Widget theme which brings snowy animation background right on your iPhone and iPod touch screen. The main purpose of this theme is to display snowflakes which falls on the home screen right behind all the icons. The overall effect is really nice as can be seen in the screenshot below.

How-to Install:

Step 1: You will need to have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch to install this theme.

Step 2: Let It Snow Widget theme is available on http://cy.sosiphone.com/ repository and needs Winterboard app from Cydia to activate. Make sure you have installed Winterboard and have added http://cy.sosiphone.com/repo in Cydia.

Step 3: Once you are done with all the steps above, simply activate the Let It Snow Widget theme from Winterboard to make it fall snowflakes all over your iPhone home screen.

Run Android on your HTC Windows Mobile phone

If you’ve got an HTC Touch Pro, Touch HD, or Diamond, you can try out Android on your device thanks to this guide over at Kong Technology. The steps are relatively simple for getting Android up and running on your HTC phone. The best thing about this guide is that Android wont actually replace your Windows Mobile installation, but you’ll need it to run Android.

Here are the steps required to run Android OS on your HTC Windows Mobile phone:

Step 1: Go to this website and find the latest modified version of Android for your HTC phone. Currently 1.6 is the latest available.

Step 2: Download the latest version of HaRET. This is the Windows Mobile application that will boot you into Android.

Step 3: Extract everything from the Android package and HaRET to the root of your external storage, except the Diamond, for which you have to extract everything to the root of the internal storage.

Step 4: Make sure you have the correct startup.txt file. Refer this website for the correct one.

Step 5: Now run HaRET in Windows Mobile and your phone will reboot into Android.

To get data connection up and running, you’ll have to follow this guide.

Office 2010 Beta and Office Web Apps go public. Download now!

Office 2010 Beta and Office Web Apps have finally been released to the public. While they’re not yet online ( still! ) at the new Office portal, you can download them from Microsoft Download Center ( links given below ).

The Office public beta build is different in version number than the one that was leaked earlier, but the features are same. For details on the new features in Office 2010 Beta, Manan’s post is a great resource.

The build number for Office 2010 Professional Plus is 14.0.4536.1000. If you’re an MSDN or TechNet subscriber, you can download it from there as well. For others, the links are given below:

(The version number is same for the builds available publically and on MSDN/TechNet.)

Note: If you were using the Technical Preview build, you’ll have to uninstall it before installing the beta.
