Young Money rapper Drake has issued a statement regarding fraudelent bookings, indicating he would appear at shows for which he was not scheduled.

“It has been brought to my attention that false promoters and booking agents are illegally using my name and likeness to promote concerts and club appearances for their own financial gain,” wrote the rapper. “It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters. I apologize to any fan that has been a victim of these circumstances or feels let down by false advertising.”

Drake’s statement also revealed that he intended to pursue legal action to resolve the matter. “Please be assured that my team and I take these matters seriously and are actively cooperating with authorities. I cannot thank my fans enough for supporting my music and all that I do.”

This isn’t the first time Drake’s likeness has been used for fraudulent purposes. Last June, afake Drake album was made available through online retailers for purchase, though the Toronto rapper had nothing to do with it.

Now that rapper Lil Wayne will soon be facing jail time, he is now trying to sell his million-dollar Miami condominium. The four-bedroom, South Beach condominium will be sold for the amount of $2.8 million.

In a recent interview with London’s Tim Westwood, Lil Wayne denied allegations from the New York Post that claimed he was having problems selling the condo because it smelled like marijuana.  

“We’re not having trouble selling it, but all the other stuff is true,” Lil Wayne told Westwood. “The people that are coming to look at it like that more about it. That’s like coming into Bob Marley’s crib and you still smelling weed and his bed still messed up. They’re like ‘leave all that shit. I want to buy all that.’ I’m one of those niggas right now.”

In other Lil Wayne news, Wayne may soon have to pay up for his Tha Carter III song “Mrs. Officer” due to a recent lawsuit. 

According to NYDailyNews.com, producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison claims to own the rights to the song’s composition. Harrison is demanding $2.5 million from Lil Wayne in unpaid royalties.

Ludacris recently talked about his upcoming “Battle Of The Sexes” album and how the lead single “How Low,” has almost reached platinum status with digital downloads. Talking about his upcoming album, Ludacris says he has been inspired to make anthem-like songs. “Athletes get motivated by songs sometimes,” he said in an interview. “That’s part of our motivation to make sure we get everybody else motivated. When we get in the studio, we want to make songs that are gonna play at such things as the All-Star game or the Super Bowl. That’s my motivation.”

Luda continued, “I’m feeling extremely excited. We pushed it up a week, due to the anticipation. I’m feeling real good about it. We’re almost platinum on the digital download singles. Thanks to everybody for buying that ‘How Low.’ Remixes, more singles to come. It’s going down.”

Hip Hop Mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs recently offered to take the spotlight off himself and be an opening act for any other artists as he prepares for the upcoming release of his new “Last Train To Paris” album. According to Diddy, he is looking to release the new album this summer. “Me and my crew, we’re putting together a whole new team and we coming to smash and spread a lot of love,” Diddy told radio personality Tim Westwood. “And we wanna do shows and we wanna go on right before anybody who wants to open up for them. Whoever wants us to open up for them, we just wanna open up and we’ll take shorts on the money, we’ll make you a better performer.”

“I’m just coming to do what I do, I’m not putting anybody under pressure, I’m just here to raise and elevate the level of the game…Hey UK, you know I’m coming there. Asher Roth recently talked about his plans to drop his sophomore album, to give people, what he calls “feelings” again.According to Asher Roth, he wants to drop his 2nd album on his birthday this summer. “There’s no album title yet,” he revealed in an interview. “I talked to everybody I wanted to get on the album. I shared my vision with them. You want to meet them halfway. Yes, you want them to come into your world as well, but you want to make sure that they’re still stamping it with them. You don’t want to leave their comfort zone. All the producers that are going to be on the album, I’ve sat down with in their living room before we got into the whole music making thing.”

“That’s super important to any artist. It makes the creation process so much easier. The sound is going to give people feelings again. I’m through with listening to music with no intestines, no gut. I want to make that dope sh*t that people can feel. That’s all the direction is. Ideally I’d like to release it on my birthday, which is August 11. That would be great, but I believe that’s a Wednesday and they try to stick to Tuesdays. But my first album released on a Monday.”

Neptunes producing team leader Pharrell Williams has reportedly been added to the list of helpers for Busta Rhymes upcoming “Chemo” album by giving Busta an “incredible” beat.
